So why shouldn’t you be taking the same precautions with your phone that you do with your PC?
Here’s a quick run-down of how to back-up the apps and data on your phone. This will come in handy if you ever upgrade to a new device and want to switch everything over, or if you need to do a factory reset of your phone and wipe the internal memory clean.

1. Install an app such as Backup Everything.
2. Open up the app.
3. Decide what you want to have backed up to your SD card. If you want to back up your SD card’s files to the cloud, consider an app like SugarSync.
4. Press the “Backup” button.
5. The backup process can be lengthy, depending on what you have on your phone. Use the schedule function to set automatically when and how often you want it to perform a backup.

And voila! You’re done. Your data is safe. When you’re ready to restore your data (such as after a data wipe or when you upgrade your device), go to the Restore menu in Backup Everything, or hit the Menu button in Titanium Backup and then hit “Batch.” From there you can restore everything all at once.
